Summer is the perfect time to get up to speed with your reading list. Longer, slower days, sun is shining, on holidays, all the conditions are gathered to give yourself time to sit down and relax with a book.
Here are my top 3 titles for this Summer:
1. Mindfulness for Health - Relieving Pain, Reducing Stress and Restoring Wellbeing by Vidyamala Burch & Danny Penman
Through my training with the British School of Meditation, I experienced what Mindfulness truly is and the many health benefits associated with it (stress & anxiety reduction, resilience, sense of inter-connectedness and overall wellbeing to quote a few). This book caught my attention while standing in the books basket of one of my teacher. In the long run, I want to be able to use MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress/Pain Reduction) with women that might benefit from it.
2. Awakening Shakti: The Transformative Power of the Goddesses of Yoga by Sally Kempton
This second book is about deepening my spiritual practice, in particular around the different Hindu Goddesses Kali, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Radha, Bhuvaneshvari and Parvati. The book is full of meditations, visualisations, mantras, teachings, and beautifully told stories. A practical guide for activating the divine feminine in every aspect of my life.
3. Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts
A big book started last summer, I promised myself I would finish it by 2019 so here I go! Gregory David Roberts wrote Shantaram three times after prison guards trashed the first two versions. It's a profound tribute to his willpower . . . At once a high-kicking, eye-gouging adventure, a love saga and a savage yet tenderly lyrical fugitive vision based on an extraordinary true story of eight years in the Bombay underworld.
Love & good vibes as always,
